ISG Data Center Anniversary: Results Exceed Expectations

September 19, 2008 marks a full year since ISG Company’s first Moscow Data Center went live.

The Data Center is used to provide computing facilities to large corporate customers, ensuring the compliance with the strictest data security standards (including TIA-942). It has protected network infrastructure especially designed for the customers with the most uncompromising requirements to fail-safety, internet channels throughput, and data protection.

During the course of the Data Center usage its system configuration and operating procedures have been adjusted and fine-tuned, ensuring the optimization of its functioning and improve the service availability. During the last year, the availability coefficient was 99.977% – a very fine performance, highly appealing to the customers.

In fact, so high was the demand for top-quality services of ISG Data Center that less than half-year after launch it was filled up to the brim with customer hardware. Accordingly, it was decided to construct the second Data Center in Moscow. It is currently being erected next to the first one and is expected to go live in early 2009. The new Data Center, with total surface area of 1000 sq. m. and capacity of up to 400 standard cabinets, will be a match for the first one in terms of hardware sophistication.

Sergey Shurshalin, ISG Deputy Director General for Data Center construction and running, has said: “A year ago we have open a new business venue for our company, and now, twelve months later see we’ve not been misguided. Two ISG Data Centers in Moscow are just the first steps of the long-term investment program for the deployment of a geographically distributed data center network. The largest of these, in Dubna, is expected to become Europe's largest; it has already passed the architectural projects selection stage and is now on the stage of land management and support systems design.”
